About Us
The Crystal Lake Community Business Association, or CLCBA, is a group of business owners and individuals who are interested in promoting Benzie County as a fun place to visit. This is done through the organization and execution of programs and events designed to bring people to the area and enjoy the benefits of the community. During the summer months the CLCBA is responsible for producing a host of activities. Over the July 4th weekend members and community volunteers coordinate the Independence Day Parade through downtown Beulah, The Firecracker 5K Run and a spectacular fireworks display over Crystal Lake in Beulah. The organization is managed by a board of directors and hold a monthly meeting the first Thursday of each month to which all are welcome to attend. Dear Prospective or Renewing CLCBA Member, The Crystal Lake Community Business Association (CLCBA) has worked since 1981 to promote the cultural, economic, and recreational vitality of Beulah and Benzonia. Our events and partnerships bring thousands of visitors to the area each year.
Member Benefits – Your membership includes:
- Business listing with logo and link on clcba.org.
- Cross-promotion through regional Chamber websites and michiganbackroads.com.
- Event promotion via signage, local newspapers, rack cards, and social media.
- Inclusion on the annual Beulah/Benzonia walking map and regional event calendars.
Community Partnerships – CLCBA collaborates with many local organizations, schools, chambers, and nonprofits to strengthen community events and resources.
Membership – Open to businesses, organizations, families, and individuals. Members are encouraged to share ideas, attend monthly meetings (First Thursday, 7:30–9 am at Hungry Tummy), and take part in events. Minutes and agendas are posted on clcba.org.
Impact – Recent events drew strong participation:
- Music in the Street — 4,400 attendees
- Cold Creek Bridge Walk — 278 participants
- Firecracker 5K — 500+ runners
- Crystal Lake Team Marathon — 74 teams (~370 runners)
